09.10.2009: Review IAA 2009

For many years the IAA in Frankfurt has been a fixed date in the trade fair calendar of the internationally active Formel D Group. At this year’s IAA the theme “Thinking, that mobilizes” took centre-stage. Against this background the company’s main focus was to present its distinctive pedigree as a service provider and the associated Formel D way of thinking.

Crucial to the theme and concept that underpin the trade fair presence was the conviction that it is precisely in challenging times such as these that the company’s innovative bias makes the distinction between theory and practice. The pioneering approach and the resulting service-focused nature of the Formel D Group are anchored in the company’s basic principles on which Formel D’s corporate culture is founded. These principles define clear guidelines for the categories of cooperation, responsibility, leadership, service, process orientation, profitability, innovation and globalisation, and are applied in day-to-day practice as goals of cooperation.

This year Formel D was again involved in the VDA (German Automobile Industry Association) “GOING” initiative for up-and-coming engineers in Germany. During the IAA future engineers gained practical insights into the day-to-day routine of the engineering profession by attending workshops and presentations and visiting various exhibition stands. This is a way of engendering enthusiasm at this early stage among many future university graduates for the study of engineering and a subsequent career as an engineer.
