Cars, people and visions: COME & SEE at Formel D
On 22nd January 2008 customers, partners and employees of Formel D came together at COME & SEE in Böblingen. Present this year, too, were speakers from Formel D, who spoke about new and exciting developments in the automobile industry. Prof. Dr. Bernd Gottschalk, former President of the German Association of the Automobile industries (VDA), was unable to attend in person owing to urgent business commitments and therefore sent a video message to congratulate Formel D on its international growth, consistent quality and 100 % flexibility. In his speech he quoted Opel Managing Director Hans Demandt, who only a few weeks ago had said during a conversation with Viola Metzner, „Formel D is doing outstanding work!“ Then there followed a lively panel discussion. Dr. Manfred Ziemann (ThyssenKrupp Technologies AG), Univ. Prof. Dr. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h.c. Wilfried Sihn (Professor of Business Technology and Systems Planning at the Institute of Management Sciences at Vienna Technical University) and Bernhard Wolf (Chief Technology Officer of the Woco Group), together with Dr. Jürgen Laakmann (President of International Operations at Formel D), showed practice-focused approaches and solutions. Leading the discussion was industry insider Frederica Suess, Managing Partner of Forum America, which assists German car component suppliers entering markets in threshold countries. There was also no lack of expert talks on different topics. To finish off, towards evening there was also an opportunity for interesting discussions.
Viola Metzner, Managing Partner of the Formal D Company Group, summed up: „At this year‘s COME & SEE one could sense that we were on the right track. Formel D has adapted to the needs of the automobile industry and is setting up right where the customer needs it – our guests have once more confirmed our globalisation strategy.“
