  • Dr. Jürgen Laakmann Dr. Jürgen Laakmann CEO
    • Dr. Jürgen Laakmann, CEO, is the chairman of the company's executive board. He joined Formel D in 2002 and has been a member of the executive board since 2005. He was appointed as CEO in July 2017.

      After successfully completing a mechanical engineering degree in manufacturing technology in Aachen, Dr. Laakmann then studied for a PhD in the same subject area. From 1997 to 2000, he initiated, managed and successfully established the foreign branch of a German provider of software to medium-sized manufacturing companies. Before commencing work as a branch head at Formel D in Munich in April 2002, he was marketing director for a South African company responsible for developing its European market.

  • Dr. Knut Michelberger Dr. Knut Michelberger CFO
    • Since September 2017, Dr. Knut Michelberger has been Chief Financial Officer at Formel D.

      Having studied business administration and engineering, he brings to the role many years of international experience as a CFO and COO, most recently as managing director of Kaffee Partner Holding, and before that as global finance director of the Dematic Group, finance director of RKW SE as well as CFO/COO of GE Access Capital Solutions, GE Fanuc Automation Europe and Klöckner Capital Corporation, USA. Dr. Michelberger currently holds positions on the supervisory boards of the Norma Group, Weener Plastics, Rena Technologies and Kaffee Partner.

  • Dinggui Gao Dinggui Gao Managing Director China
    • Dinggui Gao is Formel D’s Managing Director China, since October 2017. He brings over 30 years of experience with internationally operating companies.

      After successfully completing a Mechanical Engineering degree (B.Sc.) in Wuhan and a MBA program in Bejing he joined various companies in leading and executive positions. Prior to Formel D he was President at Sandvik Construction. He also gained extensive experience in the Automotive Industry at Bosch, Honeywell and Eagle Ottawa.

  • José Luis Estévez José Luis Estévez Vice President Western Europe
    • José Luis Estévez, Vice President Western Europe, is leading Formel D’s activities in Western Europe, which includes Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom. He joined Formel D in 2002 and took over the role of Vice President in August, 2017.

      As Industrial Electronics Engineer, Estévez brings over 20 years of experience in the Automotive Industry. At Formel D Spain he was responsible for the production sector, developed subsidiaries around Spain, managed projects internationally and was in charge of the North America business for several years.

  • Gerry Hodapp Gerry Hodapp Vice President Americas
    • The Vice President of the Americas is Gerry Hodapp. Gerry Hodapp joined Formel D in 2014, as the Director responsible for the USA and Mexico. In Q2 of 2016 he was elevated to his current position as Vice President of the Americas.

      Mr. Hodapp has over 40 years of extensive experience in all areas of strategic business development and growth in the Automobile Industry. He held senior leadership positions at Ford Motor Company and Visteon Corporation prior to establishing his own consulting practice in 2005. His consulting engagements with Formel D developed into his current role with the company.

  • Marcel Klehr Marcel Klehr Vice President Deutschland
    • Marcel Klehr is responsible for Formel D's activities on the German market. He switched to Formel D in 2012 and in July 2017 was appointed to the extended management board as Vice President.

      Previously, he was responsible for an operative region in Germany, which he managed from Böblingen. From 2013 to 2016 he was Director Sales for Germany. In addition, from 2013 to 2017 Marcel Klehr also led Formel D's subsidiary in South Africa. Before starting work in 2012 as a Formel D project manager in Munich, he had been a sales and project manager with a large system supplier in the construction industry for several years. His studies in business administration, as well as philosophy, politics and economics, were completed in Hamburg and Munich.

  • Peter Lowe Peter Lowe Vice President | Global KAM & Business Development
    • Peter Lowe joined Formel D in 2015 with extensive international automotive experience over the past 12 years. At the beginning of August 2017, he took over the role of Vice President for Global Key Accounts and Business Development.

      After achieving his Mechanical Engineering degree in 1982, Peter Lowe developed international business experience in Quality, Engineering, Commercial and Project Management. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and has an MBA in International Business and Industrial Marketing. He has worked in developing the automotive operations of other service businesses in more than 10 countries during the past 12 years with emphasis on the developing markets before joining Formel D.

  • Martin Pekár Martin Pekár Vice President Central & Eastern Europe
    • Martin Pekár joined Formel D in 2013, first as the Sales Director and then Operations Director and is now heading Formel D in Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia and Romania. He took over the role of Vice President CEE in August, 2017.

      After completing the Machine Engineering High School in 2001, Martin Pekár worked for various Automotive OEMs and a power engineering service provider and has held various positions. Starting as Quality Inspector, he was promoted to Supervisor, Coordinator, Project Manager, Branch Director and Managing Director. In 2011 he joined the MBA program at UNYP University in Prague.
